cliffs in petra, it looks like there are remnants of carvings into them

some of the stairs up to the cathedral. jeff and i rode up them on donkeys, which was a fairly horrifying experience. my donkey was a speed demon who liked to run into the other people on the stairs. he also liked to walk close to the edge of cliffs. jeff's donkey liked to weave around a lot and get too close to the walls and the edges of the cliffs. my arms and back are still sore from hanging on to the reins so tightly.

an old temple that we found on our way down from the cathedral. there wasn't much of a way to get up to their other than climbing the little cliff.

view on the way down from the cathedral.

a tomb and some carvings into the cliffs.

more tombs carved into the cliffs....

another view of the stairs up to the cathedral. it was about a 20 minute donkey ride up the narrow, winding steps to get to the top. on the way up a bedouin man offered to buy my donkey... it however, was not for sale
